| Eight years ago, I created the Genlists web site because I couldn't find the information
I wanted but I was collecting a massive amount of other information. With the help of the
folks on the mailing list, we've created some huge lists to help you on your way.
I think this could be considered version 2.0 of the Genlists web site. Although I have done as much tracking as is possible on my surnames, I leave this information to help others. The information isn't verified but it gives users a place to look for what they want. I'm brand new to WIKI software but some of you are familiar with WIKIpedia. WIKI allows registered users to build a database, write articles, insert pictures, discuss these items, change them and even delete them. I am hoping that the same spirit of sharing exists on the mailing list now as in 2000 and that our listers and visitors will continue to donate items to this encyclopedia of genealogy. As always, your comments and suggestions are appreciated. The "bacronym" for WIKI is "What I Know Is..." To visit the TIKIWIKI database (it's empty as of 05/11/2008 and needs your help). |
