William Mellen of Sherburne, MA changed his name to William Henry Mellen 3/10/1887
Elizabeth Pulsifer Mullen and John Mullen (children of John Mullen of Newburyport, MA) changed their names to
 Elizabeth Mellen and John James Mellen. 3/9/1831
Willie Albro Mellen of Worthington, MA changed name to Willie Albro Curtis.
Mary Jane Morgan of Fitchburg, MA changed her name to Mary Jane Mellen.

The town of Mellenville, New York, was named after Dr. David Mellen (son of James and Elizabeth Mellen) in 1837.
I believe that I got this information about 10 years ago from the town clerk in the nearest town that has a town hall!
