| 4752 | Linda Kirkendall, 74, of Goshen, passed peacefully to her heavenly rest on May 26, 2019. She was born on July 1, 1944 in Denver, Colorado to Harold and Bernice (Baird) Ashby. After graduating high school, she married John Kirkendall on February 29, 1964 and he survives. Linda worked in offices and obtained her Qualified Medical Assistant certification. She worked in various healthcare offices including Oaklawn. Linda was a member of First Baptist Church in Elkhart. Linda's greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, John; her children, Allen (Michelle) Kirkendall, Damon Kirkendall, Danita (Brian Tobolski) Ross, and Robert (Amy Jarzynski) Kirkendall; five grandchildren; and a sister, Karen Taylor. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, May 30, 2019 from 6-8 PM in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN 46561. A memorial service in Linda's honor will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 at 11 AM at the funeral home. | 4769 | Linnie Grove long-time teacher dies. Funeral service for Linnie Virginia Grove, who died July 30 in Colorado Springs, was held Wednesday, August 3, at the Peet Mortuary in Lusk. Linnie was born February 19, 1913, at Oran, Texas to J. A. and Ola Nanney Robinson. She was one of six children. She attended school in Texas and graduated from Adams State Teachers College. Alamosa, Colo. She married Robert K. Grove on December 24, 1941. They had two children, Maxine and Thomas. Mrs. Grove was a dedicated teacher and taught in schools in Colorado before moving to the family homestead in Keeline with her husband. In 1953 they moved to Lusk. From 1956 until her retirement in May 1977 she taught the first grade at the Lusk Elementary School. Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Joe (Maxine) Riley, Colorado Springs, Colo.; one son, Thomas Keith Grove of Gillette; two step-daughters, Mrs. John (Barbara) Pellegren, Littleton, Colo.; and Mrs. Richard (Cathy) James, south of Lusk; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents and four brothers and one sister. Memorials to the Lusk Elementary School are requested. Rev. Robert Norris, Douglas, officiated at the service. Mrs. Jane Bardo and Tim Johnson provided the music. Honorary pallbearers were Bernard Thon, Morris Zempel, Artie Joss, Jud Watson, Harvey Herder, Dick Heine, Lee Johnsonbaugh, Mick Coen and Don Barnes. | ROBINSON, Linnie Virginia (I23822)

Teste W Logan clk Oral familly tradition is that Ezekiel had fifteen children and was married twice. His family had moved from Cumberland Co., Kentucky to Missouri about 1820. He bought and sold land in Kentucky and Missouri, and by the time of his death, in 1868, he was living on a farm belonging to his son-in-law, Archibald Wills, in Platte Co., Missouri, but had lived for many years in Clay County, Missouri, near the town of Liberty. Among his children, born in Kentucky, was a son named Jesse George, and a daughter named Martha Ann. Martha married William Simms and lived near Liberty in Clay County, Missouri, where the James brothers lived. Once they invited Jesse and Frank to dinner and after they had eaten and left, Mr. Simms noticed that the antique clock on the mantle was missing, so he immediately rode after them and they gave him back the clock without any argument. | HUFFMAN, Ezekiel (I3711)

Mrs. Wills was a member of the Church of Christ, having joined in early life, and was a true Christian. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a loyal wife and helpmate and a dependable, considerate friend. She had frequently visited her sister, Miss Susie Taylor, and other relatives here and was highly esteemed by all who made her acquaintance. She was ill seven days from the effects of a stroke and passed on Wed. October 2, 1940. Pallbearers were Louis and A. D. Fisher, M. L.Singleton, Chester Speck, J. R.
