    • Birth date is actually christening date. St. Peter's Parish, New Kent County. From information compliled by Wanda Gregory in "Doss Family Connection": In 1722, a chapel was ordered built at or near Edward Nix. In 1724, Nix paid for fence railings at the Allen's Creek church (Vestry book, St. Paul's Hanover). In 1731, Nix received a patent for 400 acres in Hanover, adjacent to Col. Meriweather, on a branch of the Southanna R. (Va. patent book 14, p. 229) Will was filed in Charleston , SC will book 1774-79, p 418.
