These are the spelling variations I have come across in my research. It seems it doesn't matter. As long as you have B R Z L, or B R S L, you can put any combination of vowels in there. Any of these spellings can be found with either the S or the Z. When I "search" for information, I try to search for any spelling. Some searches allow you to use "wildcard" characters such as * or ?. I usually search for Braz* and Bras* on these engines. You can also try b*z*l. On others you can use the Soundex equivalent which is B624. The key to finding your ancestors is usually in the pronunciation of this name. The families are grouped by folks who pronounce it BRAZZLE which rhymes with DAZZLE, BRAZIL (BREZEALE) like the country, or BRASSEL like TASSLE (which includes BRACEWELL or BRASWELL).
